Now’s the Time for Some Color!

If I see another pair of gray sweats it’ll be too soon. I’m ready for this summer!

Whenever I see Italians or Spaniards or French men strolling along the esplanades in their brightly colored sport coats, I wonder how can they get away with it? Then I thought of the azure blue of the roofs in the Greek islands, the brightly painted houses in the Caribbean, and the pink stucco and red roofs so common in Florida and realized that it’s all about the light.

The brighter the sunlight, the stronger the colors can be. Anything less is either blinding (white in full summer sun) or “bleached” into nothingness as your eyes adjust to the rays.

Right about now, around Easter, we used to break out our salmon, sky blue and yellow ties. Or trade in that sober blue shirt for pink, or yellow. Maybe we’d even flirt with a red sock or a tan (or white!) shoe. Some bolder types unfurled their patch madras or Nantucket red trousers. At least at the weekends.

Well, ties aren’t that common these days. We wear colorfully checked shirts year-round. Tan shoes are having a good couple of years.

But this year? After two years of hiding inside, sobering statistics, and no more fun of any kind, we are ready to bust out like spring and add a lot of color. Especially in the sport coat department. Brighter blues, lighter hues and some playful combinations like the green and blue number above are all fair game. Especially if you feel like celebrating warmer weather, sunshine, and a little freedom!

Now is the time to add some color to your wardrobe as we crawl out of winter and get ready to embrace the social summer of ‘22. Call and come in or make an appointment to see what’s on offer. You’re going to love what you see.
