Few things so perfectly capture the coming of Fall and Winter than a tweed jacket. In school, I would layer a thrift store Harris Tweed over a denim jacket as a sort of proto-car-coat on my way to a football game. On long weekend get-aways, the tweed jacket would serve as the aforementioned outerwear, or substituting a button-down shirt and tie, as my dinner attire when “proper attire” was required. Tweed is a natural companion to denim, corduroy, flannel and twill. Dress it up, dress it down, it is the sartorial equivalent of comfort food.
This Leviner Wood client was really on the ball this year and ordered his tweeds during the waning days of summer, ensuring that he will enjoy them all season long — and for many more to come. Tweed jackets are heirloom pieces. They just get better and better with a little age on them. Even with today’s softer construction, they’re built for the long run.
Leviner Wood Custom Tailors and Shirtmakers is pleased to offer both the storied Harris Tweed, the venerable Yorkshire Tweed, and a new pad of Salts 1851, showcasing the incredible colors of the season. All are excellent choices that will have you looking forward to the crisp days ahead.
