Camel Hair, Cashmere and Merino Wool. The Moth Kingdom’s Delicacies.

(It happens to all of us…. grrrrr…)

Isn’t it beautiful outside? Mornings and evenings in the 50’s, crisp, cool Autumn breezes. Convertible weather. Football weather. We love this time of year.

Our new fabrics are in and that’s probably got you thinking of the smart cashmere sweater or camelhair sport coat you last wore…. how long ago? Why?

Moth damage. We don’t know about your neck of the woods, but here in Richmond moths seem to have a taste for the finer fabrics. Conspicuous luxury consumption is all the rage.

The great news is that a good reweaver can repair moth damage to sweaters and sport coats made in luxury materials like merino wool, cashmere, and camelhair. Depending on the extent of the damage, the repair could be almost invisible, certainly undetectable to the casual — or even studied — glance.

So go ahead, salvage that full length cashmere topcoat or double-breasted camelhair polo coat that cost you a week’s pay. Send us your cashmere sweaters, your grandfather’s merino wool letterman’s sweater and your husband’s favorite sportcoat. They’re too nice to throw away and who wants to have to replace them with something of the same quality this close to Christmas…..

Contact Reweaving of Richmond. We highly recommend them.
